About the Fraternity
Founded in 1902, Phi Alpha Tau is the nation’s oldest professional communicative arts fraternity. Originally created to foster debate, Tau has evolved with Emerson over the past 100+ years to include all areas of the communicative arts. We have brothers across all majors at Emerson, and we provide an inclusive social and professional environment to any member of our Emerson community who identifies as male, regardless of race, background, or sexuality. The fraternity is involved in numerous philanthropic efforts, and our brothers are committed to expanding the communicative arts both within Emerson and beyond. Ultimately, we pride ourselves on fostering a professional and personal relationship with each other in hopes that we bring pride to ourselves, our families, and our school.
